Advanced Softball Pitching : Softball Pitching: How to Throw a Drop Pitch


In this segment, we’re going to teach you
how to throw a drop pitch. Now, same grip applies, three fingers, horseshoe grip, with
the ring finger on one side and the index finger on the other. Now, the movement of
the rotation–the rotation of the wrist is downward toward the left of the pitcher, and
the effect should be a sinking effect going towards the left of the pitcher. As my all
star pitcher Cody will demonstrate. And that’s how we throw a softball drop pitch.

I'm pretty sure this is not correct, and probably painful, judging by the way her arm stops short just above her hips.

Her back foot is not moving at all. If she stops leaning forward and drag her foot sideways she'll get more movement.
