Arm Speed Knee Drill | Softball Pitcher Drills

Softball Pitcher Drills: Arm Speed Knee Drill [Intro Music]>>Jessica Vogel: When breaking down the mechanics
of the pitch, there are several areas we can focus on. The arm speed knee drill is a great way to
isolate your upper half by taking your lower half completely out of the picture. This way our sole focus is on increasing arm
speed and controlling our wrist snap.>>Vogel: You’re going to start the drill
with your knee on the ground. If you’d like, you can use a bucket lid
top for extra support. If you’re a right handed pitcher this will
mean that your right knee is on the ground with your left leg out toward the plate at
a 45-degree angle. Keep your foot flat on the ground giving yourself
a solid base.>>Vogel: With both arms out in front of your
body, make sure your shoulders are squared, parallel with your hips. Now focus on keeping your arm circle long,
brushing by your ear and engaging your core as you release the ball.>>Vogel: The knee drill is a great way to
isolate your upper body and build up arm strength while focusing on proper mechanics like arm
swing and release point. [Outro Music]
