Ole Miss Softball Seniors – Paige McKinney

I’d say my favorite thing about being a Rebel is just the atmosphere that comes along with being in Oxford and being on the campus at Ole Miss is just – it pushes you to be your best no matter whether it’s in school or your sport, or just – and being a good person. I mean, being a Rebel’s awesome. Winning the SEC tournament last year was by far the coolest thing ever, I mean it was an amazing experience and then to get to host the regional after that and then going to Super Regional at UCLA. Last year was just a crazy year for us, breaking records it’s something that I’ll never, ever, ever forget. I hope people will look at me as a loyal teammate, someone who was always giving her best, hardnosed, just determined to do her best in everything she did and never, never took a moment off. I actually just got accepted into grad school, so I’m going to the University of Memphis to study speech therapy so that will be a two-year program and then hopefully I’ll be working full time after that. I want to thank God for giving me the opportunity to be an Ole Miss Rebel, these have been the best four years of my life. Nana, I just wanted to thank you for being Ole Miss Softball’s number one fan for the past four years and for every other year to come from being the first ones in the stands every game to traveling across the country to come watch me play, thank you so much and I love you more than you’ll ever know. I just want to thank my coaches for being here, giving me the opportunity to be an Ole Miss Rebel. My teammates for having my back, being my best friends these past four years and not only to my teammates that I have now, but all the ones that have been with me in the past, I love you guys. And I want to thank Sheila Padgett and all the staff at FedEx for all that you all have helped me with academically and just support me on and off the field and help make it here today to graduate. And I want to thank the staff, the media staff for always being behind the camera and capturing all of our good moments, bad moments and everything in-between. Also I want to thank my parents for being there for me, from the time I was five years old playing baseball ‘till my last softball game, thank you all for everything. I want to thank my brothers, Kyle and Kendall for having to endure all of the games that they had to go to or all the times my parents weren’t at their games I love you all so much and thank you.
