The date Didi Gregorius is expected to return to Yankees


 Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Didi Gregorius should rejoin the Yankees on Friday in Cleveland  Gregorius started at shortstop for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday, a day after making an excellent throw from second while turning a double play  Gregorius got his first hit with SWB on Saturday to improve to 1-for-12.  “He made a couple of good plays [Friday] night and hit a ball hard,’’ Boone said before the Yankees’ 5-3 win over the rival Red Sox at the Stadium “Now, it’s just continuing to get that every-day mode again.”  Gregorius is scheduled to DH on Sunday then have an off day Monday before two more games Tuesday and Wednesday If that goes well, he’ll travel to Cleveland and play Friday for his season debut  Clint Frazier was back in right field after not being in the lineup before Thursday’s rainout and again against lefty Chris Sale on Friday  Frazier struck out twice before he was drilled with a pitch in the left elbow in the bottom of the fifth He stayed in the game after being checked by the training staff but was replaced by Cameron Maybin to start the sixth Frazier got X-rays after the game that came back negative and he expects to be in the lineup Sunday  Frazier and Aaron Judge (oblique) did outfield drills again prior to Saturday’s game  Boone said he talked to Gleyber Torres after the second baseman watched his fly ball hit off the wall in right-center in the second inning  “He handled it the right way,’’ Boone said. “We got it handled …”  Nestor Cortes, Jr was optioned to SWB after Saturday’s game in advance of CC Sabathia being activated from the 10-day injured list to make his start Sunday
